We offer the best warranties on all our workmanship services. Our warranty is simple; we cover everything related to our work. But, since that’s open to interpretation, let’s talk about it.
Workmanship Warranty Items Covered
The following roof items are eligible for repair/replacement when they do not conform to the manufacturer’s installation techniques:
Installation of new Roofs:
- valleys
- felt
- ice and water shield
- flashings
- starter course
- hip & ridge caps
- ventilation
- chimney flashings
- skylights/flashings
- drip edge/gutter apron
- field shingles
- low nails (shiners)
- high nails (all shingles on roof high-nailed)
- nails in the keyway
- blown-through nails
- over-exposed shingles
- keyway offset too close
Installation of New Gutters:
- Leaky miters and/or end caps
- Hangers
- Excessive spacing
- Not secured
- Improper angle
- Improper flow
- Downspouts improperly installed
- Gutter protection was improperly installed
Drainage:
- Improper flow to the exit location
Workmanship Warranty Items Not Covered
Roofing:
- Wind damage – also considered an act of God
- shingles and related accessories blown off due to damaging winds
- Rotten fascia board, defective decking, sagging in decking, and other construction deficiencies
- Wind-driven rain or snow into the ventilation
- Defective chimneys
- Including but not limited to: Insufficient crowns, missing caps, inadequate mortar, and incomplete or faulty bricks/rocks/siding on chimneys.
- HVAC components on the roof. We are not licensed HVAC professionals and cannot legally do repairs or replacements of said items due to liability purposes. If we were to do something improperly, it could trap gasses in your home and prove lethal.
- Leaking around brackets of satellite dishes (we recommend the satellite dishes be relocated off the roof)
- Not responsible for leaks that may occur from the re-use of existing skylights
- Any unauthorized fitness of use. See our contract for complete details
- Acts of God “the rapture”, including fire, hail, tornado, lightning, snow, wind-driven rain, and ice dams/ ice damage
Gutters:
- Debris resting upon gutter protection (all gutter protection requires some maintenance by the homeowner)
- Clogged gutters due to no gutter protection
- Obstructions to existing underground gutter drainage systems
Drainage:
- Minor to moderate damage to the yard during the installation process
- Squashed drainage pipes due to heavy vehicles and equipment after the installation process was completed
- Drainage clogs due to lack of gutter protection
- Tree roots infiltrating the drainage system
Miscellaneous:
Vandalism
Definition: Action involving deliberate destruction of, or damage to, public or private property.
Consequential Damages
Example: When another contractor such as Siding, Windows, or HVAC company accidentally damages the product(s) installed by GlennStone.
